As the NUag Initiative continues to grow, the reach was extended to 10 new pilot cities in September of 2024. NUag has partnered with T.I.M.E. (To Improve Mississippi Economics) to lead the next wave of USDA Urban Ag cooperative agreements. T.I.M.E. provides education and resources on urban agriculture and supports mental health and wellness in the community. They partner with organizations who share their goal of providing healthy produce from our local farmers. The T.I.M.E. team is looking forward to helping further the mission of improving healthy eating and community sustainability around the Nation.
September 16-18, 2024, NUag hosted the kickoff for the second wave of urban ag cities in Houston, Texas. Cooperators got the chance to network with each other while also learning about their initiative and USDA programs.
