Prairie View A&M University, College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources hosted Kendall Rae Johnson for a full day of agriculture learning and sharing. Poppy Johnson, CAFNR’s Community Services Coordinator, coordinated an entire college tour as well as an in depth tour of the greenhouse, poultry facility, meat science lab, and goat research center. Kendall joined children her age to explore the wide possibilities of youth agriculture and share her agribusiness journey. Kendall shared all about her journey to being the youngest certified farmer and some background on her business and value added products. She gave some insight on USDA Youth Loans and how you can apply and utilize one.

Mr. Peaches showed Kendall and team around the grocery store and let her sample many of the tasty value added products as well as the produce. Jeremy also gave some background on what is next for his business and how young farmers like Kendall can get involved.
