NUag Impact Snapshots

The NUag Project team is rolling out our version of impact statements based on interviews conducted at the National Urban Agriculture Conference, held in Detroit August 4-6, 2024. Overall, 48 interviews were conducted across various participant groups to highlight key insights.

Our first snapshot amplifies perspectives on land access and policy advocacy, focusing on relevance, response, and results.

The National Urban Agriculture Initiative (NUag) partners with organizations across the U.S. to bring real-world experience and innovative solutions to those who are working on the ground to advance urban agriculture.

The National Urban Agriculture Initiative (NUag)

Aims to increase the number of urban farmers who will learn about and utilize a variety of resources for finance, education, research and outreach to benefit their farm operations. Connecting farmers to the programs and services that are offered nationwide through USDA’s Farm Service Agency is a primary goal of this initiative.

The Detroit National Urban Agriculture conference was a three day whirlwind of everything Urban Ag. The conference kicked off with farm tours visiting Drew Farm, Georgia Street Community Collective, Beaverland Farms, and D-Town Farms.
